Jeff Gorell is a former member of the California State Legislature and current shareholder at the law firm of Anderson Kill in Ventura.  Mr. Gorell is a Commander and Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve, a two-time veteran of the war in Afghanistan, and continues to serve as an operations officer with the Defense Intelligence Agency.

Leveraging more than sixteen years of experience as an advocate at the federal, state and local level, Mr. Gorell now advises a wide variety of clients, including energy, agricultural, manufacturers and development companies, helping them navigate policy and legal challenges.  

Mr. Gorell worked as a solo practitioner from 2006-2009 and served as Deputy District Attorney in Ventura County, CA from 1999-2006.  Prior to that Mr. Gorell served as a media and communications advisor in the Office of the Governor of California, and as an advocate for the California Manufacturers and Technology Association in Sacramento.  Since 2007, Gorell has been a member of the faculty of California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California and has taught public policy development.

In 2012, Mr. Gorell was named Public Servant of the Year by Moorpark Chamber of Commerce, Camarillo Chamber of Commerce, and Workforce Investment Board of Ventura County.  He was California Healthcare Institute’s 2013 “Life Sciences Champion of the Year.” In 2007, Mr. Gorell was named ”40 Under 40,” Top Business Leaders, Pacific Coast Business Times. Mr. Gorell and his wife Laura have three children, Ashley (12), Jack (5) and Steven (11 months) and they live in Camarillo.
